We hope that you have had a good Half-term break and we take this opportunity to update you with our news.
CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU
To our Lower School staff and children for leading us in a lovely Pentecost celebration before Half-term.
To Mrs Gill Shannon leaves us this Friday after ten years of high quality work and service as our School Administrator. We thank Gill for the great selflessness and example she has given in supporting us all and we wish her all the very best for the future.
To our U9 footballers who have become Calderdale Catholic Schools Champions in the recent tournament at Sacred Heat School.Squad: Owen Bairstow, Jacob Brown, Harry Dunne, Joe Nolan, Chris Parker, Oliver Roberts and Christian Solon.
To our U11 netballers who have also become Calderdale Catholic Schools Champions in their tournament at St. Catherine's Squad: Rachel Booth, Beth Leeming, Roisin McCallion, Kate Machon, Eilish Senior and Mae Tracey.
To our Year 6 children and staff who have worked so hard in preparing for and taking the end of KS2 SATs tests.
To all our staff after we were re-accredited with Investors in People status with flying colours!
From Age Concern to Mr. O?Connor and Mrs. Hayes? class after a splendid number of sessions interviewing local people for the Leisure and Sport in Calderdale history project.
To Oliver Barnes and Rebecca Kelly for producing the winning designs for our PTA's Halifax Gala float. Well done!
To our PTA for donating a shield - "The PTA award for charitable services in school" to be awarded along with our other presentations at the end of the year.
To Fr. Finan who is celebrating his Golden Jubilee on Monday 18th June. Our musicians and choir will be helping in the celebrations. We congratulate Fr. Finan on the great milestone he has reached and thank him for everything he has done for St. Columba's parish and our school. Father Finan has been very, very supportive of our school and will be greatly missed when he retires this Summer. We send him all our best wishes and prayers.
FIRST COMMUNION THANKSGIVING MASSOur First Communion Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated this Friday at 11.00 a.m. by Fr. Finan. All welcome to join us on this happy day.
WALK ON WEDNESDAYSPlease remember that our Walk on Wednesday's initiative starts tomorrow and will continue each Wednesday up to the end of term. To qualify, your child will have to walk at least 400 metres to school on each occasion.
We remind you that we sent a map before Half-term that indicates that Lister Lane, TESCO's, Emscote Place, Lower Love Lane, Blackwall and beyond are all 400 metres from school. Maps will also be displayed by the Junior entrances. The class teachers will record the children who manage to walk each time. Please get involved if you can.

Please support our PTA at the Halifax Charity Gala this weekend. Please send your home baked goodies for our cake stall into school on Friday or Saturday morning before 10.00 a.m. Thank you.
Gala Tickets are on sale at the office price £1.00 (this admits 1 adult or 2 children)
