St.Marys under 9's football team won their first trophy of the year by winning the Shirley Lees football Trophy held at Ripponden Primary School. The tournament was a four team tournament that included Burnley Road, St.Patricks, Ripponden and ourselves. We started with good wins against Burnley Road and St. Patricks and then played Ripponden in the decider. The match was a close contest but St.Marys came out on top with a 3 - 0 victory. The team played excellently throughout the tournament showing excellent footballing skills and good sportsmanship.

St. Catherines Football Tournament
The under 9's football team won their second trophy of the year by winning the St.Catherines feeder schools tournament held at Sacred Heart Primary School. The tournament had 9 teams and was extremely competitive. St.Marys took two teams with both playing extremely well. The second team narrowly lost out in the group stage losing 1-0 to St.Malachys, drawing 0-0 with Sacred Heart and finished with a 3-0 win against St.Josephs, Halifax. The first team won all of their group matches beating St.Josephs Brighouse, St.Josephs Halifax, Sacred Heart and St.Patricks. They then went through to the semi-finals where they played St.Malachys and played excellently to win 3 -1.They saved their best performance for the final beating Sacred Heart 5 - 1. The team again played fantastically thoroughout producing some wonderful goals.
