Dear Parents

As we move through the Lenten season we send you our best wishes and update you with our news.

CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU

­ We say a very big thank you to everyone who helped and supported our splendid Around the World in 80 Minutes production.
­ Very well done to our Cross Country Runners who competed in the St. Catherine's Family of Primary Schools competition with great success recently. Our Year 3 team of Kate Smallbones, Chevelle Crossley, Grace Brown, Lawrence Okanga, Kenan Douglass and Sam Brant were second overall.Our Year 6 team of Luke Stocks, Alex Conway, Tyler Nicholson, Mollie Shaw, Ellie Pendergast and Roisin McCallion were also second.
Meanwhile, our Year 4 team of Sean O'Dowd, Joe Nolan, Savannah Barnes, Alhana Nicholson, Sophie Karandikar and Joseph Horner were first and our Year 5 team of Kar Lai Ling, Ronan Helliwell, John Horner, Matthew Greenwood, Ciara Walsh and Emma Sutcliffe were also first. Well done to everyone!Emma Sutcliffe, Joe Nolan and Roisin McCallion were individually first in their age groups and they together with Tyler Nicholson, Kar Lai Ling, Matthew Greenwood, Ciara Walsh, Sean O'Dowd and Sophie Karandikar have been selected to represent the St. Catherine?s Family of Schools in the Hipperholme and Lightcliffe Partnership finals later in the month.

­ We thank the parents of our children preparing for their First Sacraments and ask everyone to keep these children in your thoughts and prayers as they get read to make their First Reconciliation on 24th March.

­ We thank Mrs Gill Shannon for her ten years of splendid high quality work as one of our School Administrators. Gill is leaving us after Easter. We will miss her a lot and wish her all the very best in the future.

BAG TO SCHOOL COLLECTION. We will shortly be sending the Bags home. Collection day is Friday 23rd March. Bags need to be at school by 9.15 a.m. Please support if you can.
LENTEN NEWS· Thank you for your support of our Lenten Charity work.· We remind you of our daily Morning Reflection before school. Everyone is invited.
Fr. Finan is coming to say a Lenten Mass for the whole school on Wednesday 21st March at 10.00 a.m. All welcome.
Our term ends with our Lenten Liturgy at 2.00 p.m. on Friday 30th March. We hope that you can join us.

HELPING IN SCHOOL COURSE - for parents and friends.

We have a few places available on this popular accredited course which is of great value for adults who are interested in working or helping in school. Details from the office.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTIONS

We thank you for your general views and suggestions to date and for your ideas about the building, parents courses, information about school and reading. March is a critical time in our School Improvement Cycle and we again ask for parental views and suggestions on general and specific issues. We encourage everyone to return the reply on this letter by Friday 23rd March and thank you in anticipation of your positive and constructive support.
