5 Feb 2007 - February Newsletter

NewsletterFebruary 2007
Dear Parents

We take this opportunity to update you with our news and to thank you for your ongoing support.

·
We start by sending our love and prayers to Alan and Jane Moore and family on the very sad death of their young son Steven. Please keep the family in your thoughts and remember the example of love and courage that Steven and his family have given us. We thank Mrs. McCambridge and our Year 6 choir and musicians who sang and played so well at Steven's funeral.

· Thank you to those parents who attended our recent PTA meeting. We remind you of the Valentines Disco to be held at St. Mary's Community Centre on Saturday 10th February.
· Our next PTA meeting will be held in school at 7.00 p.m. on Thursday 15th March at 7.00 p.m.
· We congratulate Grace and Laurie Jefford and Grace Brown who have been baptised at St. Mary's Church in recent weeks and ask you to remember them and their families in your prayers.

· Congratulations to our footballers who recently played with considerably more success than our England cricket team by beating Parkinson Lane U8's 5 - 0 and U11's 2 - 0. Callum Mawer deserves special praise for an outstanding goal keeping performance.
· Thank you to parents, friends and the PTA who are raising funds for our Infant Playground works. Recent thanks go to Emma Amore, Carmel Mawer, Penny Clarke and Angela Richards, who have all raised matched funds or obtained contributions towards our project from their employers. The draft plan for the playground will be available for viewing on the Infant Parents Noticeboard by the Parents Room.
· HELPING IN SCHOOLS COURSE for parents. Happily the WEA have been able to recruit a tutor for this recently cancelled course and it will now run for ten Thursdays in the Summer term, starting on Thursday 3rd May. If you are interested in a place please speak to our office staff and make a note in your diary.

· 'Around the World in 80 minutes'. Thank you to everyone who has helped with costumes. We look forward to an entertaining and enjoyable week next week.

Finally, we send you our best wishes and thank you for your positive, ongoing support.

With all best wishes
Paul Copley ? Head Teacher
